PURPOSE:To decrease voids and to enhance critical current characteristics, a.c. loss characteristics, stability, and rigidity by stranding in flat square in a lengthy direction plural NbTi supercondcutive element wires each of which is covered with polyimide, then by molding them. CONSTITUTION:Plural NbTi superconductive element wires are stranded in flat square in a lengthy direction, then they are molded. The NbTi supercondcutive element wire contains a copper skin and a polyimide cover whose thickness is 5-20mum formed on the copper skin. For example, the NbTi supercondcutive wire whose diameter is 0.59mm covered with the copper skin is separately covered with polyimide, formal, and polyester so as to have a thickness of 5mum and 10mum to obtain six kinds of supercondcutive element wire 1. Seven of each element wire 1 are stranded to form a primary stranded wire 2, and eleven stranded wires 2 are compressed and molded with Turk's head rolls roll from four directions. Thereby, voids are decreased, and superconductivity, stability, and rigidity are enhanced. |
