PURPOSE: To provide an enhanced method of dielectric characteristic of new or used electric cable. CONSTITUTION: For an insulator 12 of a cable 10, a water-reactive treeing inhibitor with a diffusion coefficient of at least 1×10<-7> cm<2> /s at 50 deg.C and an initial viscosity <100 cp (mPa.s) at 25 deg.C, is supplied into gaps among conductors of the cable 10. As a result, the dielectric characteristic enhancing fluid for the insulator 12 is distributed symmetrically, and cable processing time is shortened drastically.
