PURPOSE:To restrict the tilting in operating a shift lever along the speed change pattern of the shift lever not by a cover plate. CONSTITUTION:A shift device with a manual speed selecting mechanism of automatic transmission for vehicle is provided with a stationary member 1, swinging retainer 2 which is swingably supported around the shaft X arranged on the stationary member 1, shift lever 3 wherein the engagement with the swinging retainer 2 is released by the rotation around the shaft X and a shaft Y which is rotatably supported, and a means 4 which detects the rotation of the shift lever 3. A locking member 5 for engaging with the stationary member 1 and disengaging from the swinging retainer 2 by the rotation of the shift lever 3 around the shaft Y is supported at the swinging retainer 2, and a guide face 120 is provided on the stationary member 1 to restrict the rotation of the shift lever 3 around the shaft Y with the shift lever 3 abutting on the locking member 5 in rotating around the shaft X. |
