PURPOSE: To reduce blue light absorption and to improve light-fastness and to enable selection ofλmax under the influence of a coupler solvent and to facilitate bleaching for giving retouchability by incorporating a specified stabilizer and a specified color coupler. CONSTITUTION: The photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer or an adjacent layer contains the color coupler represented by formula I or II in which each of A and B is an electron with-drawing group; X-(Link)n - is an H atom or a coupling-releasable group; R is an optionally substituted alkyl or cycloalkyl group or the like and >=2 of A, B, R, and X may form a part of a ring when needed; Link is a bonding group; (n) is 0, 1, or 2; and Z is a group for extending a conjugate route from A or B to a -NH-R group, while keeping an electron withdrawing properties of all the A-Z- or B-Z- group. The layer containing the color coupler contains also the stability represented by formula III in which E is an alkyl or alkenyl group or the like; X is an alkylidyne group or the like or a simple bond; and W is a substituent.
