PURPOSE:To detect a body more accurately without greatly being affected by the photography state of a color image as to the body detecting device which detects the object body in the color image through image processing. CONSTITUTION:A color information conversion part 102 converts digital image data of R, G, and B into data of a Munsel color specification system by the pixels of an image picked up by an image input part 101. A load value calculation part 103 calculates load values bled upon the value of saturation calculated by the color information conversion part 102 by the pixels of the image corresponding to the object body represented with the data of the Munsel color specification system calculated by the color information conversion part 102. An area detection part 104 uses the load values calculated by the load value calculation part 103 by the pixels of the image corresponding to the object body to detect the quantity of variation of color space data representing the respective pixels from a background image previously obtained through similar operation and then binarizes the variation quantity of the respective pixels with an optional threshold value to detect the area of the object body. |
