PURPOSE:To facilitate insertion and connection of a flexible cable and to provide compact structure of a small size. CONSTITUTION:A flexible cable connector is provided with an insulating housing 10, which has an insertion space 15 provided with an insertion opening in the front end, plural contacts 30 arranged in order in the insulating housing 10, and a slider 50, which can be slid forward and backward. The contact 30 is formed of a base part, 31 and a pair of arm parts 32, 33 so as to have a U-shaped opening 34, and the U-shaped opening 34 is arranged in the inside of the insulating housing 10 so as to face the insertion opening. The slider 50 consists of a pressing part 51, which crosses the inside of the U-shaped opening 34 and extends in the width direction, and right and left operating parts 52, 53 projecting to the outside from right and left side faces of the housing 10 in right and left ends of the pressing part, 51, and is mounted in the housing 10 so as to slide forward and backward. A contact projection 33a is formed in the point end of the arm part 33. |
