<p>PURPOSE:To provide a drive pinion shaft supporting device for a vehicular final reduction gear capable of maintaining the supporting rigidity of a drive pinion shaft over a long period of time with a long service life without the generation of useless frictional heat and frictional resistance. CONSTITUTION:A supporting device for supporting a drive pinion shaft 1, meshed with a ring gear, rotatably at a differential carrier 2 is provided with a first thrust roller bearing 7 and a second thrust roller bearing 8 receiving thrust load at the advancing time of a vehicle, a third thrust roller bearing 9 receiving thrust load at the retreating time of the vehicle, and a first radial roller bearing 5 and a second radial roller bearing 6 receiving radial load in place of conical roller bearings. At least the first and second thrust roller bearings 7, 8 are formed in such a way as to share in the thrust load through a steel spring spacer as an elastic spacer and disposed in tandem so as to be mutually adjacent in the axial direction.</p> |
