Appts. has a T- or Y-shaped tube section inserted into the catheter structure. The straight part of tube section gives laminar flow to the urine passing through the catheter, and the projecting tube section has a seal to take a pH value measurement probe. The straight section of the tube insert has closures at the end to calibrate the pH probe. The T-shaped or Y-shaped tube section, with the seal and the two closures, is a sterile disposable unit.
