<p>The valve consists of an inner moulding (3) and an outer moulding (4), with a diaphragm spring (sprung disc or flip dome spring) (5) lying between them retained in a groove (6). To operate the valve, the container is pressurised and fluid passes up the centre of the inner moulding exerting pressure in the space (7) and forcing the inner and outer mouldings axially apart by the inner moulding moving back into the container at position (8). Seals at (11 and 12) prevent leakage. As this happens, paint passes up the inner moulding to a tip passage (9) and emerges as a spray from the tip of the outer moulding at (10).</p> |
