PURPOSE:To produce the above porous product which can be easily formed into products of various pore diameters, comprising a silk fibroin gel and having a porous structure. CONSTITUTION:The above porous product comprises a silk fibroin gel and has a porous structure. It can be produced by forming water-insoluble gel from an aqueous solution of silk fibroin, forming the obtained gel-like substance as a molding material into a porous product of any desired shape. The aqueous silk fibroin solution is allowed to gel by regulating the pH to 6.0 or below, preferably, 2-4. By this treatment, a water-insoluble silk fibroin gel is precipitated and this precipitate is separated, recovered, and used as a molding material to produce a porous product. The pore size can be controlled by the concentration of the silk fibroin solution, the pH conditions for gelation, the kind and concentration of a poor solvent used for gelation, the lyophilization temperature, etc., and the diameter of the pore is usually 0.1-500mu. It is also possible to add various pharmacologically active substances such as enzymes or medicines to the porous product. |
