PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound, having inhibiting action on an elastase and useful for treating and preventing diseases caused by the abnormally accelerated decomposition of elastin, collagen fiber and proteoglycan with the elastase in mammals. CONSTITUTION:H, substitutive 1-16C alkyl or formula II [X is single bond, SO2 or substitutive 1-4C alkylene ; ring A is carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring; n is 1-5; R<4> is H, 1-8C alkyl, 1-14C alkoxy, 1-6C alkylthio, OH, halogen, NO2, trihalomethyl, NR<41>R<42> (R<41> and R<42> are H or 1-4C alkyl), tetrazole, amino acid residue, etc.] or, together with the N to which they are bound, denote a heterocyclic ring containing at least one substitutive N; R<3> is H, OH, 1-6C alkyl, halogen, 1-4C alkoxy or 2-5C acyloxyl; (m} is 1-4} or its nontoxic salt or acid addition salt, e.g. N-[m-(3-methyl-4-pivaloyloxybenzene) sulfonylaminobenzoyl]glycine. |
