A sound-deadening point of support (1) for a rail (2) has a ribbed plate (7), on which the rail (2) is mounted, first deadening elements (12) which are arranged between the ribbed plate (7) and a bearing surface (13), and second deadening elements (20) which are arranged between the ribbed plate (7) and a frame (14, 15) fixing the ribbed plate on the bearing surface (13), the frame (14, 15) engaging over the ribbed plate with the interposition of the second deadening elements (20). The ribbed plate (7) and the frame (14, 15) are designed as separate components. The second deadening elements (20) between the underside of the frame (14, 15) and the upper side of the ribbed plate (7) are precompressed. <IMAGE>
