A description is given of a device for detecting the degree of misting or icing of a motor vehicle pane, a heat-conducting body being connected to the vehicle pane in a thermally conductive fashion. The state of misting or icing of the entire vehicle pane is represented in miniature around the connecting point between the member and vehicle pane. A sensor is arranged in the vicinity of the connecting point on the vehicle pane.
