A METHOD OF SCREENING FOOD PRODUCTS FOR FOOD ALLERGENICITY

The invention relates to a method of screening food products for food allergenicity based on antibodies induced in an experimental animal which has been pretreated with a cytostatic and to which the food product to be screened has been administered orally, and wherein subsequently the antibody response is determined by a method with is known per se. The invention further relates to an experimental animal sensitized to allergens from certain food materials through oral adminstration of those food materials. This animal has been treated with a cytostatic which temporarily inactivates its lymphocytes and renders its intestines temporarily permeable to the allergens in the food materials.
