<p>An earth dumping control device for a small diameter pipe propelling machine for laying a small diameter pipe under the ground wherein a small diameter pipe (2) mounted with a leading pipe (1) at the leading end thereof is propelled into the ground by a propelling device (3) provided in a starting shaft (4), and wherein a cutter head (8) provided at the leading end of the leading pipe (1) is designed to carry excavated earth and sand to the starting shaft (4) by means of a screw conveyor (6) provided in the small diamter pipe (1), said control device being characterized in that a control valve (10) designed to be opened or closed by air pressure is provided to the screw conveyor (6) inside the leading pipe (1), that the amount of earth and sand filled in a casing (6b) located forwardly of the control valve (10) is detected by detecting a pressure inside a pressure chamber (10b) of the control valve (10) by means of pressure detector (23), and that an optimal amount of earth and sand is always to be fed into the screw conveyor (6) by controlling the rotation of the screw conveyor (6) based on the information so obtained.</p> |
