A sorting conveyor having a tiltable supporting tray (1) can, for the discharge of bulk material, be pivoted, as a result of a tilting movement about a tilting axis (3) extending in the direction of travel (2), by means of a tilting device (4) arranged on a drivable carriage (5). The tilting movement takes place in each case by means of a control roller (17) guided at the discharge station in an appropriately shaped control rail (16). In order to provide a low mass to be moved, with a correspondingly high acceleration and a corresponding tilting movement, it is proposed that there be provided pairs of supporting arms (13; 14) which are in each case pivotable in opposition about laterally spaced pivot axes (10; 11) extending in the direction of travel (2) and mounted on the carriage frame (6) and intersect in the transverse direction (12) and the supporting-arm ends (13a, 14a) of which are in each case articulated on the supporting tray (1), each pair of supporting arms (13; 14) being individually controllable into a tilting direction, whilst in each case the other pair of supporting arms (13; 14) can be co-pivoted and locked within the lever mechanism formed. <IMAGE>
