The invention concerns shaped sections (11) with an open, channel-like groove (13) running along, or parallel to, the longitudinal axis of the shaped sections. The ends of the groove (13) are connected by a PVC cover plate (12) whose shape matches that of the grooves (13), which overlaps the ends of the grooves (13) and which is bonded to the outside or inside of the grooves (13). The clip comprises an upper part resistant to the adhesive and a lower part also resistant to the adhesive. The upper part has a U-shaped recess (1) whose shape matches that of the external surface of the groove (13) and rests against it to form a seal, while the lower part has an external surface (7) whose shape matches that of inside surface of the groove (13) and rest against it to form a seal. The length of the upper and lower parts of the clip is essentially the same as, or greater than, the length of normally used cover plates (12). The lower part is mounted on a plate (9) which is also resistant to adhesive. The clip ensures a durable bond even between long sections.
