Tap heads for beverage containers or vessels have a hand-lever-operated ram (6), a beverage connector (3), a connector (2) for a gaseous pressurising agent and a container connector (8). In order to provide a tap head by means of which the gas pressure inside it can harmlessly be released, it is proposed that a relief valve (9) be connected to the inside (16) of the tap head.
