A measuring device for measuring the density of a liquid (1) contains a density sensor (2) immersed in the liquid and a measuring arrangement (4) connected to this sensor. An electromagnetic pressure transducer (12) of the density sensor is connected by a pressure-transmission line (8), which is completely filled with a pressure-transmission liquid (21), to pressure-detection diaphragms (27) of the sensor which receive the pressure of a liquid column of determined column height (11) existing between the diaphragms. The transmitted column pressure changes the air gap (d) of a magnetic circuit (14, 15) of the pressure transducer, against the spring force of a concertinaed spring element (13), and thus changes the storage capacity for the magnetic energy fed to the magnetic circuit. The magnetic energy stored from the excitation-current pulses is measured in the measurement arrangement (4) and converted into a display signal, for the display device (33), which corresponds to the density of the liquid. <IMAGE>
