An engine cleaning apparatus and processes are described for the removal of contamination within the internal oil passages and the internal exhaust system passages of an internal combustion engine without having to disassemble the engine. The apparatus includes a pump, a fluid reservoir, fluid supply lines (1 and 21), switching valves and analytical gauges (13, 19, 24 and 27). A process is described for the removal of carbonized oil, varnish, and sludge from the oil passages of an internal combustion engine. A process is described for the removal of built-up contamination within the exhaust system and especially in the catalytic converter of an internal combustion engine to restore catalytic action and to reduce the excess back pressure created on the engine. |
