A VENT ASSEMBLY AND A METHOD FOR HEATING AIR ENTERING A ROOM THROUGH A WALL VENT

A vent assembly (1) for mounting in a wall vent (2) of an outside wall (3) of a room of a house comprises a housing (17) which is located in a shaft liner (18) in the wall vent (2). A main duct (20) extends through the housing (17) from a main duct inlet (21) to a main duct outlet (23), and a heat exchanger (25) located in the main duct (20) heats air passing through the main duct (20) for delivery to a room. An inlet cover (105) with a louvred air inlet (106) accommodates air from outside into the main duct (20), while an outlet cover (78) with a louvred air outlet (88) delivers the heated air from the main duct (20) into the room. A secondary heat exchanger (91) is located in a secondary duct (90) for heating air for recirculating into the room.
