In the case of a method for regenerating sand, especially used foundry sand, in which the sand is cleaned mechanically or mechanically/pneumatically, preferably by impact, rubbing and the like, dedusted by sifting (screening, classifying) and removed as regenerated material, the configuration is such that the process steps of cleaning and sifting are each carried out separately, batchwise, with a positively guided motion.
