ORAL COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING TRICLOSAN FOR THE TREATMENT OF APHTHOUS ULCERS

The present invention relates to the use of Triclosan in the manufacture of a composition for the prevention, inhibition and/or reduction of aphthous ulcers. Preferably, the compositions are oral compositions such as toothpastes and mouthwashes. The oral composition is especially preferably in a gel form. Preferably the Triclosan is used together with a zinc salt such as zinc citrate, and or a polymer that enhances the delivery of the Triclosan.
