<p>A method of gluing a duroplastic facing sheet onto the surface of a support which possesses rounded edges is as follows. The facing sheet is cut to the required dimensions to cover round the rounded edges and the projecting portion of the sheet is coated with a plasticiser to soften it before the sheet is bent around the edge. The portion coated with plasticiser is heated, esp. for a minimum of one hour, more specifically for >=8 hours. Used esp. for fitting decorative facing, artificial veneers and the like to items of furniture, chipboard, other synthetic board and so on, but particularly where the rounded edges run in more than one direction. An example would be a circular table top or the like. By the application of a plasticiser to the zone of the facing material, this is enabled to deform around the 3-dimensional shape.</p> |
