The apparatus includes a microcomputer for outputting data corresponding to a channel selected by a user, a tuner for selecting a broadcasting signal of one channel corresponding to channel data of the microcomputer, a band pass filter for filtering the signal of a signal wave detector, and outputting a color burst and color component, a burst gate for removing the color component from the output of the band pass filter and outputting only color burst component, an amplifier for amplifying the color burst component from the burst gate to a predetermined level, a signal wave detector of automatic color control for outputting only direct current level corresponding to the color burst level by detecting the peak of the color burst level from the amplified level, and a comparator supplying the direct current level and a sync signal to the microcomputer.
