PURPOSE:To provide a printing device capable of printing a high-quality image at high speed as well as ensuring improved maintenance services and low running cast, and a method of operating the printing device. CONSTITUTION:An image 230 with a mark 231 is printed on a cloth 36 using a method other than an ink jet method, and a corresponding image is further printed on the printed image 230. In this case, the printed mark 231 is detected using a line sensor 57, and an image is printed based on the position of the detected mark 231. |
