PURPOSE:To form a sharp developed color image having a white background and excellent in preservation capacity by providing a thermal coloring layer containing copper p-chloribenzoate represented by a specific chemical formula and a benzotriazole compd. on a support. CONSTITUTION:Copper p-chloibenzoate represented by formula and a benzotriazole compd. are separately ground and dispersed in an aq. system by a sand grinder and the obtained dispersions are mixed to prepare a coating soln. which is, in turn, applied to a support such as synthetic paper or a plastic film and dried to obtain a thermal recording material having a thermal coloring layer. As a concrete example of the benzotriazole compd., there is 2-(2'- hydroxy-5'-methylphenyl) benzotriazole. Further, an overcoat layer based on a water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer can be laminated on the thermal coloring layer. Furthermore, pigment, zinc stearate and paraffin can be added to the thermal color forming layer and the overcoat layer corresponding to a purpose. |
