PURPOSE:To provide an air bag device capable of preferentially calibrating the change of the sensitivity of an acceleration sensor and having sufficiently high reliability. CONSTITUTION:Given displacement is given to an acceleration detector 1 from a diagnosis displacement force device 3 to calibrate sensitivity to make a microprocessor 5 perform sensitivity calibration factor calculation treatment successively acting at a first given period and sensor output correction treatment successively acting at a second given period smaller than the first given period. Consequently non-periodic calibration for an acceleration sensor is made possible to improve the reliability of an air bag system using the acceleration sensor and the accuracy of collision detection.
