Method for the treatment of cancer

The carcinostatic agent of the present invention is an extract from seeds of Aeginetia indica and has interleukin-2 and interferon- gamma inducing potency. As shown in FIG. 1, all of the mice, to which this extract was not given, ( DELTA ) died from tumor (6 mice). In contrast, in the mice, to which the extract was given by 0.6 mg/kg ( &squ& ), 1.2 mg/kg (+), and 2.5 mg/kg ( ) intraperitoneally once in every two days from the day of tumor grafting, all mice showed increase in the survival rate. Thus, the extract exhibits excellent carcinostatic effect.
