PURPOSE:To provide a melt transfer-type ink image receiving sheet in which a high recording density is obtained with excellent reproducibility of dots. CONSTITUTION:The melt transfer type ink image receiving sheet comprises a sheetlike support containing cellulose pulp as a main ingredient (e.g. basis weight: 100g/m<2>), a resin coating layer formed on one side surface of the support and containing thermoplastic resin as a main ingredient (e.g. titanium dioxide 13% blended polyethylene, 20g/m<2> laminate), and an image receiving layer formed on the coating layer and containing pigments as main ingredients (e.g. ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin, rosin compound, wax, etc.). The support is so formed of a base sheet which (1) contains cellulose pulp having freeness of 450cc or more as a main ingredient, (2) has a density of 0.7-0.9g/cm<3> and (3) has Oken type smoothness of its surface of 20-120sec. |
