PURPOSE:To obtain a skin beautifying agent containing a chalcone derivative as an active component, having excellent skin beautifying effect and effective for preventing and treating spots and freckles caused by sunburn, etc. CONSTITUTION:This skin beautifying agent contains 0.0001-10wt.%, preferably 0.001-5wt.% of a chalcone derivative of the formula (R is H or OH) as an active component. The compound of the formula exhibits excellent preventing and dissipating effect on the deposition of melanin pigment by the suppression of melanogenesis of melanocyte and a skin cosmetic compounded with the compound exhibits excellent skin beautifying effect. This cosmetic is properly incorporated, in addition to the compound of the formula, with oil, humectant, thickener, antiseptic, emulsifier, pigment, powder, pH modifier, antioxidant, perfume, emulsion stabilizer, etc., and prepared in the form of lotion, milky lotion, cream, ointment, stick, solution, pack or gel. |
