PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of the sticking phenomenon with a thermal head by performing the feed of a thermal transfer recording sheet and the application of heat to the thermoplastic resin-containing heat-resistant lubricating layer of the sheet due to a thermal head at the same period. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer recording sheet wherein a colorant layer containing a thermal transfer dye is provided to one surface of a base film and a heat-resistant lubricating layer is provided to the other surface thereof, heat is applied to the heat-resistant lubricating layer of the thermal transfer recording sheet by a thermal head to transfer the thermal transfer dye to an image receiving material. In this case, it is necessary to form the heat-resistant lubricating layer of the thermal transfer recording sheet from a layer containing a thermoplastic resin and it is also necessary to perform the feed of the thermal transfer recording sheet and the application of heat at the same period. As the thermoplastic resin, one with a glass transition point of 50 deg.C or higher is pref. The same period means that the feed of the thermal transfer recording sheet and the timing of the application of heat to the thermal transfer recording sheet are perfectly indcependently performed and it is pref. to feed the thermal transfer recording sheet even at the time of the application of heat to the thermal transfer recording sheet. |
