PURPOSE:To obtain a gear oil composition useful for gear oil, etc., in a cold district, etc., having excellent viscosity characteristics and low-temperature characteristics, containing a specific high-molecular weight polyether and a prescribed low-molecular weight polyether in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The objective gear oil composition contains (A) a polyether of formula I (R<1> is 1-8C aliphatic hydrocarbon; R<2> is H or 1-6C aliphatic hydrocarbon; A is 2-4C alkylene; k is 1-6; m is 35-300) having 10,000-50,000 weight- average molecular weight and (B) a polyether of formula II (R<3> is 1-6C aliphatic hydrocarbon; R<4> is R<2>; n is 1-20) having 76-1,000 weight-average molecular weight in the weight ratio of the component A/B of 20/80-80/200. |
