PURPOSE:To adjust pH of waste water with a low pH value inexpensively without using an alkaline agent. CONSTITUTION:Waste water 2 with a low pH value containing a large amount of an organic acid is passed through a neutralization tank 3 filled with thread- shaped pieces of metal having a higher ionization tendency than hydrogen, and the pH of the waste water 2 is adjusted by neutralizing the organic acid in the waste water 2 with the metal in the neutralization tank 3. The waste water 2 from the neutralization tank 3 is then introduced into a reactor 1, where organic compounds in the waste water 2 are decomposed by the action of microorganisms. |
