The invention describes a transmission structure for a motor vehicle automatic transmission with three planetary gear sets (P1, P2, P3). In this the individual gear parts of the planetary gear sets (P1, P2, P3) are partially connected to one another thereby permitting a gearshift in the forward gears involving only two gearshift elements (clutches and brakes). This is achieved in that the sun gear (1a) of the first planetary set (P1) and the sun gear (2a) of the second planetary set (P2) are firmly connected to one another and the internal gear (5a) of the first planetary set (P1) together with the webs (3a, 4a) of the second and third planetary set (P2, P3) form a fixed combination. <IMAGE>
