Acceleration pickup (sensor)

An acceleration pickup (10) has an actuating magnet (operating coil, solenoid) (12) which is operationally connected to the contacts (15, 16) of a reed switch (dry-reed switch) (17). Arranged between the actuating magnet (12) and stop (13) are two different force systems (19, 20 and 30 and 31, respectively) which are coupled to one another in such a way that at least after the operating point (switching point) (B) of the reed switch (17) is reached there is a degressive characteristic curve of the spring. The result is a relatively long closing time of the reed switch (17) and reliable triggering of the connected safety system. The acceleration pickup is simple and cost effective in design. <IMAGE>
