The invention relates to a digital controller structure with whose aid standard directional valves having pulse magnets can be used as proportional valves. By means of suitable dimensioning of the correction factors used in the control loop, in the case of a defined desired value preset by the electronics, the flow in the directional valve can be kept constant over large pressure ranges, that is to say this arrangement corresponds to a proportional valve with an integrated pressure balance.
