The invention relates to a filter insert (1) for a filter for filtering liquid or gaseous media, having two end discs (2, 3) and having an essentially hollow cylindrical filter body (10) arranged between these, through which filter body the medium to be filtered can flow, at least one of the end discs (2, 3) being provided with a central through-hole (20) by which the filter insert (1), with at least one seal (4, 4') being interposed, can be pushed axially liquid-tightly on to a medium-feed nozzle or discharge nozzle (5), and, for the purpose of changing the filter insert (1), this being able to be detached from the nozzle (5). The filter insert (1) according to the invention is characterised in that, - the filter insert (1) is constructed as a replacement filter insert to replace conventional filter inserts having metal parts, - the filter body (10) comprising paper and/or cotton and/or felt and/or thermally recyclable synthetic nonwoven web, - the end discs (2, 3) comprise thermally recyclable plastic and - the seal (4) comprises a flexible, thermally recyclable material. <IMAGE>
