The target is observed by the gunner via a tank mounted day-night periscope(3) whose optical axis follows that of an integrated laser distance meter, operating on the pulse return procedure. In the functional region of the laser transmitter (6'), a separate laser guide beam transmitter (8) is installed. In the latter a guide beam (10, 11) flies the projectile fitted with a rear receiver whose optical axis follows that of the day-night periscope. Pref. the laser guide beam transmitter is fitted in the tank turret in the region between the periscope and reactive tank modules. USE/ADVANTAGE - For tank weapon systems, suitable for beam rider controlled projectiles.
