Separator for an alkaline accumulator, consisting of: - two sheets of felt (10, 20) made of polypropylene, polyamide or polyethylene, with a thickness of between 0.1 mm and 0.4 mm, - and a microporous, planar intermediate sheet (4) made of a sintered material chosen from polyvinyl chloride and polyethylene. The thickness of the said microporous sheet is between 0.1 mm and 0.4 mm; the diameter of its pores is between 10 mu m and 100 mu m, and its weight per unit area is between 100 g/cm<2> and 400 g/cm<2>.
