<p>An endotracheal tube has at least one flexible irrigation cannula (7) along the tube (1) to the distal end, and a diffuser (12) attached to the cannula to spray a drug delivered through the cannula externally of the tube. The diffuser is pref. a membrane with micrometric holes to pass the drug, or such holes in the rounded distal end of the cannula. The cannula pref. has a proximal part outside the tube and carrying a syringe coupling. The tube have a distal end balloon (4), when the cannula may have a perforated distal end extending beyond the balloon or a casing with micrometric holes may surround the balloon. The diffuser may alternatively be one or a pair of chambers each surrounded by a double-walled cuff with micrometric holes.</p> |
