Method for recording and reproducing images

A method for recording images on two videotape recorders and for assemblying such images during reproduction is given in which each videotape recorder stores one half of the image information according to a left-hand field of view and, respectively, a right-hand field of view. The recording and reproduction of the image information is carried out from right to left with respect to the videotape recorder storing the left-hand field of view and from left to right with respect to the videotape recorder storing the right-hand field of view so that disturbances due to fluctuations in the synchronised running can be eliminated by cutting off the left-hand and right-hand edges of the image.
