The invention relates to a bobbin creel for Jacquard weaving or knitting machines, consisting of a plurality of segments with bearings for a multiplicity of bobbins, the bearings of the bobbins being fixed in block form in a vertical plane at short distances from one another and means for guiding, braking and retracting the thread of each bobbin being assigned to them. With the aim of improving the run-off conditions for the threads, saving thread material and making the harness change more efficient, tubular cops (1) without a core are used as a thread store. The bearings of the tubular cops are designed as bearing shells (211, 221) open on one side and aligned coaxially with the tubular cop. Accommodated in each of the bearing shells (211, 221) are two tubular cops, the threads of which are connected to one another.
