It is intended to specify a method of this type, in the case of which no hand holes and assembly devices are required while being technologically simple, which can be carried out with a minimum of clamping points and in the case of which parts are prevented from being lost in the complete transformer and which allows the bushing to be replaced without lowering the oil level in the tank. This is achieved essentially in that, even during the assembly of the active part, at least one easily movable conductor is connected at one end to the winding outgoer, while its other end, which is still free, is equipped with a clamping device and is positioned on the winding outgoer in a stable position virtually at right angles under the subsequent bushing opening in the cover, and in that, once the active part has been introduced into the tank and the cover has been fitted, the movable connecting conductor is withdrawn via the cover, is conductively clamped to the bushing conductor and is pressed back again with the bushing, after which the bushing is connected to the cover in a liquid-tight manner. <IMAGE>
