A batter-board apparatus exhibits a batter-board framework having two framework parts which are to be arranged at an angle with respect to one another. Longitudinal elements (18) serving as cord-retaining means can be fastened on transverse supports (13) of the framework parts. For this purpose, use is made of fastening devices (20) with a threaded bolt (21) which projects from a clamping part (22) and engages through a fastening hole (19) on the longitudinal element (18), with the result that the transverse support (13) and the longitudinal element (18) can be braced between the clamping part (22) and a clamping nut (23). The clamping part (22) engages around the transverse support (13) in the manner of a U. The free clamping-part leg (26) is shorter than the threaded-bolt length projecting in front of the longitudinal element (18) in the use position. Located on the framework parts next to the transverse supports (13) is a clearance, with the result that the clamping part (22), in the event of a clamping nut (23) being positioned on the threaded bolt (21), can be fitted on to the transverse support (18) or removed therefrom. <IMAGE>
