In order to insert a power circuit breaker into a withdrawable carrier, it is necessary that the release switch for the power circuit breaker be operated in a position-related manner. Defined release of the power circuit breaker is ensured according to the invention by means of an elongated release element (53) which can be driven at its one end (55) in a positively locking manner by means of a spindle drive, parallel to the movable contact frame, and in that its other, free end (57) is designed to be flexible at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the release element (53), is articulated in a positively guided manner on a fixed crossmember (25) in the fixed installation part and has a release cam (59) by means of which that release pin (61) which is arranged on the power circuit breaker (1) can be controlled. The moving crossmember (35) is decoupled from the release cam (59) of the release element (53) by the use of spring steel and the positive guidance of the release element (53). Incorrect switching operations of the power circuit breaker (1) are also reliably avoided. <IMAGE>
