The balanced driver circuit has two transistor output stages each with an output terminal. Two transmission lines are serially connected to the output terminals, each having an output end. Two termination resistors are connected serially between the transmission line output ends. A voltage supply with a voltage VT approximately in the range of 1.0 to 1.5 volts is connected between the termination resistors. A receiver is connected between the transmission line output ends. The circuit has a voltage swing, ~DV=V2-V1, approximately in the range of 0.125 to 0.375 V, and voltage levels, V1, V2 which result in a significant reduction in power dissipated by the circuit compared to analogous conventional balanced or unbalanced driver circuits. |
