An ultrasonic printer is proposed in which convergent ultrasound is output in order to emit ink near to a point of convergence of the convergent ultrasound in the form of an ink droplet, and to deposit the ink droplet on a recording medium, such as a sheet of paper, as a result of which a recording is made on the recording medium with a multiplicity of ink droplets with a higher degree of resolution. The ultrasonic printer has a plurality of ultrasonic transducers which output ultrasonic waves in a phase-controlled way in order to form a convergent acoustic beam of ultrasonic sound.
