The invention relates to a novel grade of liquorice is found which is regular trade and is obtained by processing of the unpeeled, dried root stock (rhizome) and suckers of the liquorice plant (Lat. Glycyrrhiza glabra), which occurs in southern Europe and is grown there on a large scale. It relates to a vegetable wool which lends itself to use as a tasty chewing compound.
