The invention relates to a method of processing thermoplastic material, in particular plastic waste material, by compressing said plastic material. The plastic material is forced through a heated tubular element at such a velocity that the tubular element extrudes a product whose outermost circumferential layer forms a continuous jacket of plastic material. To do this, use is made of an apparatus provided with an open tubular element having an inlet opening and an outlet opening. Located on the inlet opening side is a forcing member (pressing member) which can be moved back and forth; also present are means for heating the tubular element. |
